BOSTON – The eighth-seeded Suffolk women's volleyball team travels to top-seed Johnson & Wales Tuesday, Nov. 1 for a GNAC Quarterfinals contest at the Wildcat Center. First serve in Providence, Rhode Island is slated for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk volleyball team closed out its regular season in dramatic fashion as the Rams swept Saint Joseph (Conn.) inside Regan Gymnasium Saturday afternoon to secure a spot in the GNAC post-season tournament.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk put together its best season since its last post-season trip in 2013 with an 11-15 overall mark and 4-7 league ledger.

Sophomores Bridget Allison, Chidera Nwankwo, and Talia Lombardo have played as the Rams backbone to their success this season. The trio leads the way both offensively and defensively. Allison holds down team-best numbers in kills (1.91) and blocks (0.70) per set, while also adding 2.39 dps. Nwankwo, meanwhile, is second on the squad in kills (1.81) and blocks (0.58) per stanza. Lombardo rounds out the threesome, providing 1.62 kps and 2.83 dps. 

WILDCAT WAYS
Johnson & Wales put together a historic and impressive undefeated 30-0 season to grab the regular season crown. The Wildcats have swept 29 opponents including all 16 in the month of October.

Maria Coniglio's 3.55 kps lead the way for JWU with Emily Kalmink (2.96), Kate Walker (2.58), Elizabeth Hamilton (2.15) and Kim Reilly (2.00) all notching over 2.00 kps. Brylee Frank's 10.47 pas has set up a Wildcats offense that is hitting .299 and averaging 13.63 kps. Defensively, Gianna Esposito's 4.58 4.58 ops takes charge with Kalmink (1.35 bps) adding to the effort. 

WE MEET AGAIN
Johnson & Wales spoiled the Suffolk women's volleyball team's home and GNAC opener Sept. 13 as the Wildcats swept the Rams inside Regan Gymnasium.

EYES ON THE MATCH

POST-SEASON PUSH
Suffolk makes its 11th trip to the GNAC post-season and first since 2013. The Rams head into the tournament as the eighth seed for the first time. Overall, Suffolk has never advanced from the quarterfinals.

The Rams and Wildcats will meet for the second time in the tournament. The teams last met in the quarterfinals in 2003 with JWU, as the fourth seed, defeating No. 5 Suffolk, 3-1.

SWEEPS
Suffolk recorded its sixth sweep of the season in its regular season finale against Saint Joseph (Conn.), marking the most since the Rams notched eight in 2013.
