BOSTON— The Suffolk volleyball team fell to Lesley Wednesday night in Regan Gymansium, as it dropped straight sets, 25-15, 25-13 and 25-20.

Liz Kerek notched the first double-double of her career for the Rams (5-16) with 15 assists and 11 digs. Madison Martin and Jane Buckley each provided four kills, while Heidy Barreiro contributed 13 digs. Kerek added to her big night with a pair of aces alongside teammates Emma Feeney and Bridget Allison.

Emily Marden had a double-double of her own for Lesley (10-7) with 22 assists and 13 digs. The Lynx also got strong performances from Anthea Rathjens (eight kills) and Ciara Bruning (seven).

Lesley got out firing in the opening set with a 6-1 lead and never looked back.  The Rams cut the edge to two, 9-7, but couldn't get any closer, dropping the set 25-15.

The Rams looked to bounce back in the second set, but found themselves in a 14-0 hole. A pair of Feeney aces gave Suffolk a four point run, as it trailed by 10. The Lions took a commanding 20-6 lead from there, eventually taking the set 25-13.

Suffolk opened the final set with some momentum, as a two-point run gave them their first lead of the night. The Rams again fought to an 8-7 advantage, before things tied at 8-all. That was the last time Lesley would trail, as the Lynx went on a 6-0 run. The Rams were able to pull within four on the match point, 24-20, before Lesley took the set and match 25-20.

Suffolk returns to action Saturday, Oct. 17 as it travels to take on Coast Guard at Lasell in a tri-match.
