BOSTON – The Suffolk volleyball team closes its six-match, season-opening road swing Tuesday night at local foe Wentworth Institute of Technology. The Rams and Leopards are scheduled for a 7 p.m. match.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday to open Great Northeast Athletic Conference play. The Rams swept Norwich in their first match at the Harold Alfond Center, before falling to the hosts' Saint Joseph's College, 3-0.

Rachel Fancy and Madison Martin led the attack against the Cadets with five kills. Fancy hit .308 and led Suffolk's defensive effort with 11 digs, while Talia Lombardo added 10 digs. Liz Kerek provided 11 assists to the Rams' 25 kill offense output.

Fancy was the go to again on both sides of the net against the Monks as the freshman totaled three kills and 18 digs. Emma Feeney pitched in 15 digs and Chidera Nwankwo matched Fancy's offensive contribution with three kills.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk has traded a loss for a win through the first five matches of the season to hold a 2-3 overall record and 1-1 mark against GNAC opponents.

Talia Lombardo and Bridget Allison have been offensive staples for the Rams with 1.67 kps and 1.64 kps, respectively. As Suffolk's setter, Liz Kerek dishes out 3.93 asp.  Emma Feeney boasts 3.73 dps to lead the defensive efforts as Rachel Fancy adds 3.63 dps and Chidera Nwankwo turns away 0.53 bps.

SERVING UP ACES
Suffolk scored 19 aces in a straight set victory over Massachusetts Maritime, marking the most aces for a Rams' squad since 2011. Freshman Talia Lombardo tallied eight aces in the victory, the most for a Ram since Melissa Griffin '12 served that number in a 3-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene September 22, 2011.

In its first GNAC action of the season, Suffolk served 17 aces in a tri-match at Saint Joseph's to lead the league in service aces in GNAC competition.

SWEEPS
All five of Suffolk's matches this season have come in the form of 3-0 sets. Last season, the Rams had 25 matches decided in cleansheats, owning six of those in victories.

LOOKS ON THE LEOPARDS
Wentworth (3-4) is coming off a 1-1 weekend in its first tri-match of 2015, where they swept the Rams' fellow GNAC member Mount Ida, and fell to WPI (3-0). The Leopards have been paced by Hannah Bailey's 2.42 kps, while Jordan Young and Sydney Meyers have added 1.87 kps and 1.41 kps, respectively. Kayla Gendreau has led the Leopards defensively with 1.50 bps, while Lillie Clark notches 3.92 dps. Amanda Hunton has handled the setting duties with 6.29 aps.

LOOKING AHEAD
Suffolk opens its home schedule Thursday, Sept. 17 when it welcomes Anna Maria to Regan Gymnasium for a GNAC contest at 7 p.m.
