BOSTON – Coming off its first victory of the season, the Suffolk volleyball continues its six-match road swing at Bridgewater State Thursday night. The Rams and Bears are schedule for a 6 p.m. match at the Adrian Tinsley Center on Competition Court.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's volleyball team totaled 19 aces en route to a 3-0 sweep over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday night at the Clean Harbors Athletics Center. The Rams took the match by set scores of 25-9, 25-9 and 25-19.

The win not only marks the first for Suffolk this season, but also the first in the Bonny Ducharme era. The Rams' 19 aces were the most since serving 21 in a 3-0 victory over Johnson State September 7, 2012.  

Freshman Talia Lombardo led the way with a career-high eight, while classmate Jane Buckley added a career-best five. Lombardo and first-year Bridget Allison paced the offense with eight kills each, while hitting .385 and .267, respectively. Senior Caitlyn Mockler dished out nine assists and split the setting duties with sophomore Liz Kerek, who finished with seven helpers.

Lombardo also paced the rams' defense with eight digs. The Buccaneers' -.136 hitting percentage was the lowest total for a Suffolk opponent since UMass Dartmouth hit -.011 last season against the Rams.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
With a 1-1 record, Suffolk enters Thursday on a high following a 3-0 sweep over Mass. Maritime. Talia Lombardo has been the all-around player for the Rams, boasting 2.33 kps, 1.50 aces per set and 2.17 dps. Bridget Allison, meanwhile, has chipped in 2.00 kps with Jane Buckley and Chidera Nwankwo adding 1.33 kps each. Liz Kerek has dished out 4.80 aps as Caitlyn Mockler has added 4.50 aps.  The Rams' defense is led by Emma Feeney's 2.67 dps with Kerek (1.60 dps) and Madison Martin (1.50 dps) also contributing to the effort.

SERVING UP ACES
Suffolk scored 19 aces in a straight set victory over Massachusetts Maritime, marking the most aces for a Rams' squad since 2012. Freshman Talia Lombardo tallied eight aces in the victory, the most for a Ram since Melissa Griffin '12 served that number in a 3-1 victory over Eastern Nazaren September 22, 2011.

BASICS ON THE BEARS
Bridgewater went 0-4 at last weekend's Springfield College Invitational to fall to 0-4 on the season. The Bears are led on offense by Syndey Bennett who has averaged 2.71 kps and Hannah Maymon who sports a 2.64 kps average. Charleyene Panner as handled the setting duties, averaging 6.57 aps. On the defensive side of the net, Cassidy Tyros' 3.00 dps lead the way, while Bennett contributes 0.57 bps.

#RAMSFANFEST
Suffolk fans are invited to be a part of history Saturday, Sept. 12 as the Rams host their first soccer doubleheader at its new home turf, East Boston Memorial Park. The first Rams Fan Fest kicks off with a celebratory ceremony of Suffolk's partnership with East Boston before the women's soccer team hosts Lasell at 1:45 p.m., followed by the men's team battling Mount Ida at 4:30 p.m. The event begins at 12:30 p.m.

LOOKING AHEAD
Suffolk's first tri-match of the season is in store Saturday as the Rams open their GNAC slate at the University of Saint Joseph's and face Norwich. Suffolk takes on the Cadets at 2 p.m., and takes the court against the Blue Jays at 4 p.m.
