Volleyball Tops Salem St. 3-1 on Saturday

The Suffolk University Volleyball team defeated Salem State University by a 3-1 score on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Junior Yabriela Perez (Boston, Mass.) led all players as she recorded 12 kills in the contest. Perez also finished the day with 17 digs, to go along with a team-high four service aces.

After dropping the first set 25-18, Suffolk won three straight games; 25-16, 25-20 and 25-16 to pick up their fourth victory of the season.

Freshman Jane Buckley (Plaistow, N.H.) collected 11 kills in the four sets, while freshman Krista Iacobucci (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and senior Katie Matatall (Danville, N.H.) each recorded eight kills on the day. Matatall finished with a team-high 19 digs.

Suffolk will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Albertus Magnus College for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match with the host Falcons and St. Joseph's College of Maine.
