
The Suffolk University Volleyball team topped the Gordon College Fighting Scots, 3-0 on Thursday evening. Freshman Savannah Carpenter (Weston, Conn.) finished with a game-high 12 kills and four solo blocks to lift the Rams to their 13th win of the season.
Freshman Kirstin Hartnett (Wakefield, R.I.) finished with a team-high 16 digs, while senior Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) added 15 digs on the defensive side for the Rams.
The loss drops Gordon to a 9-13 overall mark on the season. Junior Faith Gerdes (Wall Lake, Iowa) finished the evening with a team-high four kills, while freshman Jenna Labbadia (Berlin, Conn.) recorded three kills and two solo blocks. The Fighting Scots recorded five team blocks on the evening. Labbadia also recorded one of two Scots' aces on the evening.
Both teams will be back in action on Saturday afternoon. Gordon will host a tri-match at home with Daniel Webster and UMass-Dartmouth travelling to the Bennett Center. Suffolk will travel to Lasell College for a 2:00pm match in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
