Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match at Curry College

The Suffolk University Volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon as they have now won six of their last seven contests to move to a 6-4 mark on the season.

Suffolk defeated Salem State University, 3-1 before knocking off Curry College 3-1, the host of this weekend's local tri-match.

In game one junior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) continued her strong season leading the Rams with 16 kills in the victory. Freshman Savannah Carpenter (Weston, Conn.) also chipped in with 14 offensively to help pace Suffolk to the victory. Junior Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) finished the first match with a team-high 21 setting assists to go along with 10 digs, while sophomore Kristin Hartnett (Wakefield, R.I.) led all players with 19 digs.

Brillaud finished the second match with a career-high 22 kills to go along with 18 digs to pace the Rams to their second win of the afternoon. Sophomore Yabriel Perez (Santa Domingo, D.R.) led all players with 21 digs, while Sierra had 18 setting assists in game two. Senior Sarah Arbogast (Chesterfield, Mo.) record 15 setting assists in game two, while senior Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) recorded 20 digs on the day with ten in each match.

Suffolk will be back in action again on Tuesday evening as they travel to Wentworth for a 7:00pm non-conference match with the Leopards.
