Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight

The Suffolk University Volleyball team made it four wins in a row as they topped Newbury College, 3-0 on Thursday evening.

Sophomore Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) led the Rams posting 13 kills as Suffolk moves to a 6-9 overall record on the 2011 campaign.

Freshman Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) posted 30 setting assists in the contest to go along with six digs.

Junior Hannah Davis (Haverhill, Mass.) posted a season-high with five blocks to go along with four kills.

Senior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) and sophomore Hailey Atkinson (Branford, Conn.) each had four kills in the match, while Griffin led the Rams with three service aces.

Sophomore Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) recorded 16 digs to lead Suffolk on the defensive front.

The Rams swept all three relatively close sets with scores of: 25-23, 25-22 and 25-23.

Suffolk will be back in action on Saturday as they face Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for Rivier College as past of a tri-match. Non-conference Babson College will also take part in the tournament.
