Volleyball Tops Eastern Nazarene College, 3-1

The Suffolk University Volleyball team posted their second victory of the week topping the Eastern Nazarene College Lions, 3-1 on Thursday evening as part of Suffolk Spirit Night.

The Rams took the see-saw battle in four sets coming from behind to take the first game 25-23. After winning the second set 25-21 the Rams dropped set number three as the Lions managed to rally late earning a 25-21 win before Suffolk sealed the victory with a 25-21 match clinching victory in the fourth set.

Sophomore Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) posted a season-high with 24 kills to lead the Rams. Hillman had seven kills in set number four for the Rams as Suffolk moves to 4-9 on the season.

Senior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) finished the evening with eight service aces and also had 11 kills in the victory for the Rams, while she also had 12 digs on the defensive side.

Sophomore Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) had a team-best 13 digs in the contest, while sophomore Sarah Arbogast (Chesterfield, Mo.) recorded 46 setting assists throughout the four sets.

Freshman Tori Brilland (North Andover, Mass.) had seven kills to go along with three solo blocks, while junior Hannah Davis (Haverhill, Mass.) recorded four blocks and had four kills.

The Rams will be off this weekend and are back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Lesley University in non-conference action at the Regan Gymnasium at 7:00pm.
