Volleyball Suffers 3-1 Setback to Daniel Webster

The Suffolk University Volleyball team (2-7 overall) suffered a 3-1 setback on Thursday evening to Daniel Webster College (6-0 overall).

Sophomore Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) led the Rams with 11 kills and 16 digs, but the Rams fell short to the Eagles who have now won all six of their contests to start the 2011 season.

Senior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) had seven kills and 14 digs, while freshman Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) chipped in with eight digs and had 22 setting assists.

Freshman Colbey Kenney (Old Lyme, Conn.) was strong of the defensive front for the Rams as she posted a team-high 17 digs in the contest.

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend as they participate in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tri-match the will be hosted by Mount Ida College. St. Joseph's College (Me.) will also participate. The Rams take the court at 12:00pm.
