Volleyball Posts 3-1 Win Over Becker

The Suffolk University Volleyball team (2-6 overall) posted a 3-1 victory over Becker College on Tuesday evening at the Regan Gymnsium.

Senior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) had season-highs in kills with 13 and digs with 16 to go along with four service aces to lead the Rams to their second victory of the young season.

Freshman Glamarys Sierra (Carolina, Puerto Rico) had 40 setting assists in the four game set as well as 13 digs, while junior Hannah Davis (Haverhill, Mass.) had four blocks in the contest along with six kills.

The Rams took the first two sets with ease winning 25-15 and 25-9 before the Hawks rallied for a 25-23 victory in set three. Suffolk would close out the match in set number four posting a 25-15 victory with Griffin leading the way with four of her 13 kills on the night.

Sophomore Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) had two service aces in the match-clinching fourth set and finished the night with three in total as she also posted eight kills and nine digs. Sophomore Hailey Atkinson (Branford, Conn.) had seven kills and four service aces on the evening, including three in the second set. Sophomore Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) also posted 13 digs on the devensive front for the Rams.

Suffolk will back in action on Thursday evening as they travel to Daniel Webster College to take on the Eagles in non-conference action at 7:00pm.
