The Suffolk University Volleyball team (1-6) picked up their first victory of 2010 at the Regan Gymnasium on Wednesday evening defeating the Mass. Maritime Bucs 3-0. Freshman Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) led the way with seven kills, two service aces and eight digs.
The Rams won the first two sets of the evening, 25-11 before putting the match away 25-10 in the clincher.
Junior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) had five kills and five service aces on the evening along with four digs, while senior Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, Mass.) and freshman Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) each had three service aces in the game. Sullivan led the Rams with 13 setting assists, while Kennedy also had five digs.
The Rams will be back in action on September 16 as they play host to Curry College at 7:00pm in the Regan Gymnasium.
