Volleyball Rolls to 3-0 Win over Becker on the road

The Suffolk Rams (10-15 overall,3-5 GNAC ) swept the Becker Hawks in a road match Tuesday night. This win marks the first time since 2005 that the team has recorded double digit wins in a season.

The Rams offense was led by Melissa Griffin (Byfield, MA) and Maggie Hillman (North Andover, MA) who had a total of 14 and 9 kills a piece. Hailey Atkinson (Branford, CT) and Jaqueline Dugas (Saratoga Springs, NY) racked up 4 and 3 aces for themselves. Setter Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, MA) put up a total of 21 assists for the night.

In the first set Suffolk came out on top with a 25-20 victory after falling behind early in the set. Griffin and Atkinson each had 4 kills in the set, while Sullivan provided 9 assists. 

As in the first set, Suffolk came from behind to win the second set with a nail biting 25-23 win. Griffin put up 6 more kills on the night, along with Sullivan who racked up 12 more assists.

The Rams took it home in the third set, jumping on Becker offensively from the very beginning. Hillman, Griffin, and Dugas each had 3 kills in the set as Jennifer Duston (Nashua, NH) put up 10 assists.

The Suffolk defense was led by Hillman who had a total of 5 digs on the night, and also Dugas who aided in 4 blocks.

The Rams will play a non-conference game against Framingham State University on Thursday evening 7:00 at home.
