Volleyball Tops Salem State 3-1

The Suffolk University Volleyball (8-10) topped the Salem State University Vikings (4-12) for the second time in a week, winning 3-1 on Thursday evening.

Junior Melissa Griffin (Byfield, Mass.) led the way recording a season-high 20 kills in the four set match.

The Rams took the opening set 25-20, before dropping the second one 13-25. Suffolk would then close it out 25-21 and 25-18 for their eighth win of the season.

Freshman Maggie Hillman (North Andover, Mass.) had a team-high 26 digs to go along with nine kills. Senior Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, Mass.) had 45 setting assists on the evening, while senior Kelly Loder (Billerica, Mass.) had two solo blocks.

Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week Jacqueline Dugas (Sarasota Springs, N.Y.) finished the evening with 10 kills and 21 digs for the Rams.

Suffolk will host a GNAC Tri-Match on Saturday as they invite the St. Joseph's College Monks and Johnson & Wales Wildcats to the Regan Gymnasium at 11:00am.
