The Suffolk University Women's Volleyball team split their GNAC Tri-Match double header on Saturday dropping their first game to the Monks of St. Joseph's College (Me.) 3-0, but came back to defeat St. Joseph College (Ct.) 3-0 in the back end of their double header.
In game two versus St. Joseph College (Ct) the Rams took all three games, 25-12, 25-11, 25-11. Sophomore Melissa Griffin (Byfield, MA) had 10 kills with three service aces and five digs to lead the Rams to their first GNAC win of the season. Senior Kelsey Armstrong-Hann (Corvallis, OR) had eight kills, with three services aces and four digs, while junior Kelly Loder (Billerica, MA) had seven kills, one service ace and a dig. Freshman Hannah Davis (Haverhill, MA) had six kills and two solo blocks, while junior Julie Sullivan (Haverhill, MA) had 22 setting assists to go along with four service aces and four digs.
In the Rams' first game Armstong-Hann had 16 digs and seven kills to lead Suffolk, while Melissa Griffin picked up four kills and 11 digs.
The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Roger Williams University in a non-conference match. Game time is set for 7pm at the Regan Gymnasium. The game will be a part of "Suffolk Spirit Night" hosted by the Office of Retention Services and Off-Campus Housing. Free food, drinks and prizes will be served and given out during the game.
