Volleyball Splits GNAC Tri-Match

Boston, MA - The Suffolk University Women's Volleyball team split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tri-Match on Saturday as the Rams defeated Albertus Magnus 3-1, but fell to Norwich University 3-1 in the opener.

Sophomore Melissa Griffin (Byfield, MA) finished the day with a total of 22 kills, 7 service aces and 11 digs for the Rams. Suffolk defeated Albertus: 25-11, 25-8, 23-25, 25-12 in the final game of game of the day.  Senior Kelsey Armstrong-Hann (Corvallis, OR) had 6 kills, and 2 service aces in the Rams victory, while junior Julie Sullivan  (Haverhill, MA) had 22 setting assists and 3 service aces in the win.

The Rams fell in the opener to Norwich University: 15-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-25. Junior Kelly Loder (Billerica, MA) had 6 kills, 3 services aces in 3 blocks for the Rams in the first game.

In the other game, Norwich defeated Albertus Magnus, 3-0.

The game was the last home contest for the Rams in 2009. Prior to the game Suffolk's lone senior Kelsey Armstrong-Hann was honored. Armstrong-Hann will be serving as President for Suffolk's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) in 2009. Kelsey has played all four seasons with the Rams.
