Freshman Melissa Griffin earned the 2008 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award for volleyball. The award is given to a student-athlete of each team in the conference to recognize their achievements.

Griffin finished with a 1.57 kills per game average and played in all 29 Suffolk matches. She averaged 2.05 digs per game. The outside hitter is from Byfield, Masssachusetts.
