BOSTON – Emma Weisse of the Suffolk women's indoor track & field team sealed her spot at New Englands in the 5000 behind her performance at Boston University's David Henry Valentine Invite Friday.
On Friday, Weisse turned in an 18:04.26 showing in the event to punch her ticket in her third event at regionals. The senior captain from Hampden, Massachusetts, clocked the second-fastest time in the 5K in the GNAC this season, behind her co-captain Emily Manfra to claim 24th in the field of 46.
Weisse has already earned her place at New Englands in the mile and 3K.
Weisse and the Rams look to grab GNAC glory tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 16 at conference's inaugural indoor track & field championships.
