BOSTON – Suffolk women's indoor track & field participated in its final event of 2019, Northeastern's Joe Donahue Games Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Ten different Rams wore the blue-and-gold at the event, that featured top competition from each of the NCAA Divisions including the hosts Northeastern as well as Boston College, Boston University and Merrimack.
Emma Weisse, who was sidelined throughout the cross country season due to an injury, made her senior season debut in the 1000. The captain topped the eight-runner field with a time of 3:11.59, 1.16 faster than runner up Natalie DuBois of Sacred Heart. Olivia Chilcott and Marin Stamer represented the Rams in the event as well. The former clocked in at 3:14.33, good for fourth, while the latter finished the two and a half laps in 3:24.72.
In the 500, Sarah Lawton put together a personal-best time of 1:23.99 to finish 10th.
Mariama Kamara paced Suffolk's sprinters with a 60-meter dash time of 8.28 to claim 22nd out of 63 runners. Cassandra Kuechler participated in the event as well and claimed 49th behind a time of 8.84.
Nicole DiBenedetto rounded out the Rams' runners in the 200 where she finished 49th with a time of 29.57.
Allison Rodrigues and Savannah Hunter each competed in the shot put. Rodrigues recorded a toss of 9.86 meters, good for 13th, and Hunter had a 9.45-meter throw to finish three spots behind her teammate.
Suffolk has the next month off and will return to action in the New Year when it competes at the Tufts Invitational Saturday, Jan. 18.
