BEVERLY, Mass. – In a vote by the Conference of New England's head coaches, Suffolk women's tennis has been projected to finish sixth in the CNE Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced.
Endicott, four-time defending conference champion, claimed the top spot with 46 points thanks to five five-place votes. Nichols, who received the remaining two first-place nods, was just two points shy of the Gulls to fall into second.
Roger Williams (36), Gordon (28) and Western New England (19) round out the top five.
Suffolk slid into sixth with 13 points to edge out Curry's 10 points, good for seventh.
The Rams will be under new leadership in 2024 as Zack Goodstein has taken over the program as head coach.
Caren Urbano, two-time all-league singles player, is back to look to lead the way alongside returners Nia Bebb, Rachel Hill and Anastasiya Zakharava.
Suffolk's season starts Saturday, Sept. 7 at Salem State at 12:00 p.m.
