Zack Goodstein joined Suffolk Athletics as the women's tennis head coach in August 2024 and is set for his second season in 2025.
Suffolk is Goodstein’s first collegiate head coaching job. He brought his tennis pro knowledge to Beacon Hill from the Lexington Tennis Club, which he co-founded and currently serves as the Director of Operations.
In his first season on the Rams' sideline, Goodstein guided the squad to its first-ever appearance in the Conference of New England (CNE) playoffs with a 1-5 league ledger. Suffolk finished 2024 1-11 overall. The blue-and-gold's success was behind second-team singles player Caren Urbano.
Goodstein’s coaching background began at Tenacity in Allston, Massachusetts. Over four years he planned and executed five student and family events with more than 150 attendees, administered operations and strategically planned 23 summer program sites with over 5,000 students and designed a six-week curriculum for all 23 programs. He also piloted three-month evidence-based character education program across five middle schools and taught academic, tennis and fitness classes to 30-plus students daily.
On top of his responsibilities at both Tenacity and Lexington Tennis Club, Goodstein worked as a tennis professional at the Mount Auburn Tennis Club from November 2017 to June 2020.
Away from the tennis courts, Goodstein has volunteered his time with Answering the Call Development Program, Organizing for Action Community Engagement Fellow and Boston Young Nonprofit Network Board Ambassador-Fundraising.
Goodstein earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clark University in 2015. The four-year men’s tennis letterwinner for the Cougars continued his education at Northeastern University, where he graduated in August 2020 with a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management.
