BOSTON – A new season for Suffolk women's tennis starts Wednesday, Oct. 17 as the fifth-seeded Rams travel to Regis Wednesday, Oct. 17 to take on the fourth-seeded Pride in the GNAC Quarterfinals. The post-season match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

POSTSEASON PUSH

  • Suffolk makes its 11th consecutive conference tournament appearance and second-ever as the field's fifth seed.
  • The last time Suffolk entered the tournament as the fifth seed was in 2012 when the Rams fell to Johnson & Wales, 6-3.
  • The Rams look to make their eighth overall and sixth straight semifinals showing and first-ever as the fifth seed.
  • Overall, Suffolk has made two championship contest appearances; 2007 and 2009.
  • The Rams own one conference crown, which came in the inaugural season in 2007 over Simmons, 5-4.
  • Suffolk and Regis will face off for the first time in the league postseason.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team did what only one team has done before, defeat Simmons, as the Rams took down their conference counterpart, 7-2, Saturday afternoon at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, to wrap up the regular season.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Behind its 7-2 victory over Simmons Saturday, Suffolk secured the fifth seed in the conference tournament with a 3-4 league ledger and 5-8 overall record. 

The Rams have relied upon its top two racquets in Delaney Dunlap and Ilda Ascic to lead the way in 2018. Dunlap (5-8) has played exclusively as Suffolk's ace, while Ascic (9-4) has posted the team's best singles record from the second spot. 

Dunlap and Ascic have partnered in doubles action and form the blue-and-gold's top tandem at 7-6 overall and 4-3 against conference competition.

PRIDE PROWL
After meeting Suffolk in mid-September, Regis rattled off three straight wins. Recently, the Pride fell in back-to-back outings though to sit 7-3 on the season. 

Ariana McCormack (5-2) played the majority of matches as Regis ace. Carly Donovan, meanwhile, is a top racquet as well with an unblemished 6-0 mark from the second spot. Overall, Donovan is 7-1 on the season. Katasha Jarvis rounds out the top half of the ladder for the Pride with a 6-0 record at No. 3 and a 7-2 overall singles mark.

Jarvis and McCormack team up for the top doubles mark, sitting 5-2 overall. The team of Donvoan and Katelyn Mogelinick have yet to be beat in action, sporting a 4-0 mark in double splay together. Kaeligh FitzPatrick and Lauren Mogelnicki are also successful together, teaming up for a 5-1 record all from the third position.

WE MEET AGAIN
The Suffolk women's tennis team could not build momentum off its double points advantage as Regis swept singles action to take down the Rams, 7-2, Sept. 19.
