BRIGHTON, Mass. – The Suffolk women's team did what only one team has done before it, defeat Simmons, as the Rams took down their conference competitor, 7-2, Saturday afternoon at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, to wrap up the regular season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk got the advantage early on thanks to sweeping doubles action and never looked back to take down the Sharks for the first time since 2007 and third time overall.  

Senior Delaney Dunlap and freshman Ilda Ascic put the Rams on the board with an 8-2 victory over Nickie Nguyen and Marissa Johnson on court one. Meagan French and Jordan Miller followed suit as the senior and rookie downed Sarah Mariski and Meagan McKeever by an 8-1 margin on court three. Elena Cisneros Garcia and Kendall Smith secured the doubles sweep with an 8-5 win against Paola Rios and Michelle Medici in the second spot.  

As the match transition into singles action Miller was the first of four Rams to win both doubles and singles as the East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, native bested Carrie St. Peter, 6-0, 6-2, in the sixth spot.  

Miller's classmate Ascic secured the victory from the second position with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Johnson.  

French and Dunlap rounded out the Rams with wins in both doubles and singles. The former picked up a 6-4, 7-5 victory over Mariski at No. 5, while the latter downed Nguyen, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, on court one.  

Simmons secured its two points of the match on courts four and three, in that order, respectively, for the final 7-2 margin.
