Johnson & Wales Takes Down Women’s Tennis, 7-2

NORTH READING, Mass. – The Suffolk women's tennis team wrapped up its home slate Saturday morning with a  7-2 setback to Johnson & Wales at North Reading High School.

HOW IT HAPPENED
JWU scored six straight points to easily clinch the victory. The Wildcats swept doubles action and rattled off wins on singles courts six and four respectively to clinch the conference triumph.  

Suffolk's points came after six of JWU's seven were on the board. Ilda Ascic put together a 6-2, 6-4 win in the second slot over Lauren Torree to make it a 6-1 match.  

After the Wildcats took court five, Elena Cisneros Garcia closed out the match with a 2-6, 6-4, 10-2 decision at No. 3 against Delaney Macchirole for the final 7-2 margin.

6 – Gabriela Velazquez (JWU) defeated Jordan Miller (Suffolk), 6-1, 6-0

DOUBLES
1 – Delaney Macchirole/Kourtney Moore (JWU) defeated Delaney Dunlap/Ilda Ascic (Suffolk), 8-4
2 – Claire Parry/Drew Bobey (JWU) defeated Elena Cisneros Garcia/Kendall Smith (Suffolk), 8-1
3 – Lauren Torre/Katherine Ledesma (JWU) defeated Meagan French/Jordan Miller (Suffolk), 8-0
