BOSTON – The Suffolk women's tennis team takes a break from conference competition Friday, Sept. 28 as the Rams entertain Lesley at North Reading High School. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to Eastern Nazarene at the ENC Tennis Courts Saturday afternoon.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk looks to snap a three-match setback that put the Rams 2-6 on the season. The Rams last win came Sept. 17 in a 9-0 shutout over Albertus Magnus. 

Freshman Ilda Ascic leads the way in singles play with a .500, 4-4 record in the second slot. Suffolk's ace, senior Delaney Dunlap holds a 3-5 records, while Jordan Miller also sits 4-4 on the lower end of the ladder. 

The doubles team of Ascic and Dunlap has put together a 4-4 mark exclusively as the Rams top tandem.

LYNX LOOK
Lesley (3-6) rides the momentum of a two-match win streak into Friday night and is coming off a 9-0 sweep of Norther Vermont Lyndon last Sunday, Sept. 23. 

Maddie Abbott has held down the top singles court for the Lynx. She has partnered with Jessica Russo in doubles play. The two have split time as Lesley's top team with Theresa Pereira and Sara Staton.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk has defeated Lesley in three straight meetings including a sweep in 2015 and 2016, respectively, to lead the all-time series which dates back to 2007.

COMING UP
With September paly in the books, Suffolk returns to league play Wednesday, Oct. 3 versus St. Joseph (Conn.). The match at North Reading High School has a 6 p.m. first serve.
