NORTH READING, Mass. – The Suffolk women's tennis team secured its second straight win as the Rams shutout Mount Ida, 9-0, to open GNAC play at North Reading High School Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk gained a three-point lead after taking all three double courts. Danlyn Medou and Ahilya Malhourta put the Rams on the scoreboard first with a golden match over Yuliana Chairez and Kelsey Wallace in the third spot. Isabel Rathlev and Elena Cisneros Garcia picked up an 8-3 victory over Ginger Boodakian and Cierra Peaslee on the first court before Delaney Dunlap and Keely Hardy recorded an 8-1 win over Molly O'Donnell and Amanda Garner in the second spot. 

In singles, Hardy finished first with a golden victory on court four versus Chairez. Malhoutra followed suit with a golden match over her own over Garner in the fifth position to seal up the win. 

A 6-1, 6-0 win by Rathlev versus O'Donnell in the third spot kept the Rams' winning ways going. 

Cisneros Garcia and Dunalp closed the match. The former bested Peaslee, 6-1, 6-1, in the third position, while the latter notched a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Boodakian in the top slot to close out the contest.   

NOTEWORTHY

• Suffolk remains unbeaten all-time versus Mt. Ida, improving to 12-0.
• The Rams recorded their 11th shutout over the Mustangs, tallying its eighth straight cleansheet dating back to 2012.  
• Hardy and Malhoutra recorded their first golden matches of their Rams' careers.
• Malhoutra registered her first victory in Suffolk blue and gold.

Suffolk takes its two-match win streak on the road as it begins a six-match road swing Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Regis. The GNAC contest is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
