BOSTON – Coming off its victory of the season, the Suffolk women's tennis team caps off a four-match homestand Saturday, Sept. 23 as it entertains Mount Ida in the Rams' GNAC opener. First serve at North Reading High School is set for 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team found itself in the win column for the first time in 2017 as the Rams took down Wentworth, 6-3, Thursday night at North Reading High School.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk snapped a three-match skid Thursday night to record its first win under Interim Head Coach Matt Tiberii move to 1-3 on the season. 

The Rams have used just about an identical lineup throughout their four matches with Delaney Dunlap (1-3) owning the ace spot for the blue-and-gold. Danlyn Medou's single racquet has been the most successful with the sophomore boasting a 2-2 ledger at the lower end of the ladder. Elena Cisneros Garcia (1-3) and Meagan French (1-3) have also earned singles victories for Suffolk this season. 

Dunlap and Keely Hardy are unbeaten in doubles, 1-0, while French and Jacquelyn Nakamura hold a 1-1 mark in doubles play.

MUSTANGS MENTIONABLES
Mt. Ida picked up its first win of the year, a 7-2 decision over Becker, before falling in its GNAC opener, 7-2, to Becker to bring a 1-3 overall and 0-1 league ledger into Saturday's showdown. 

Ginger Boodakian has a hand in three of the Mustangs, eight points this season. As Mt. Ida's ace she sports a 2-2 record. She also teams up with Mary O'Donnell as the team's top tandem, which holds a 1-3 record. 

O'Donnell, Cierra Peaslee, Amanda Garner and Kelsey Wallace have each tallied one singles win with the team of Garner and Wallace picking up one victory on the doubles court.

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk holds an unbeaten 11-0 record over Mt. Ida.
  • The Rams have shutout the Mustangs in all, but one meeting all-time.
  • Suffolk has turned in cleansheets versus Mt. Ida in seven straight meetings dating back to 2012.
  • The blue and gold has only given up one point to Mustangs in the all-time series in 2011, an 8-1 Suffolk win.

Suffolk hits the road for the next six matches of the season. The road trip begins for the Rams with a midweek match at Regis Wednesday, Sept. 27. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m.
