BOSTON – Two members of the Suffolk women's tennis team will travel across the Charles River Bridge to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the ITA Regional Championships Sept. 23-25. Valentina Medina and Aidiana Sagyndykova were selected by the New England region to compete in this year's tournament, hosted by MIT.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team snapped its five-match skid Thursday night when the Rams downed Wentworth, 6-3, at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk's two competitors - Aidiana Sagyndykova and Valentina Medina - have been the backbone for the Rams' since putting on the blue-and-gold uniform. Sagyndykova, a two-time GNAC Player of the Year, is 31-5 in singles overall and undefeated (7-0) this season splitting time at the No. 1 and 2 positions with Medina. Medina, meanwhile, is the reigning GNAC Rookie of the Year. The junior has an unblemished 23-0 singles mark including an 8-0 ledger in singles play in 2016. Medina has also shown unprecedented success in doubles, dropping just two matches throughout her two-year career (21-2).

THE MATCHUPS
In singles action, Medina will face Wellesley's Sarah Yan in the first round, with Sagyndykova competing against Amherst's Camilla Trapness. On the doubles court, the Rams' duo with open against Trinity's Julia Brogan and Jillian Winer.
