
WEYMOUTH, Mass. – The Suffolk women's tennis team dropped a non-league match on Sunday afternoon against crosstown foe Emerson by a 6-3 margin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Emerson picked up its second win of the 2016 season as it took 4 of 6 matches in singles play as well as a pair of doubles matchups to top Suffolk, who drops its fourth straight contest. Suffolk's top duo of Aidiana Sagyndykova and Valentina Medina continued their strong season as both registered a pair of victories in singles and doubles play combined.
SUFFOLK STANDOUTS
Medina upped her singles record to a perfect 6-0 mark on the year winning both sets in the number two individuals spot by 6-0 and 6-1 scores. Her six victories are a team-high.
Sagyndykova moved to a 5-0 record as she knocked off Emerson's Sabrina Jacobs by 6-3, 6-2 scores in the number one singles game.
Both Medina and Sagyndykova combined for their second win of the year as a tandem when they posted an 8-4 win in doubles action.
COMING UP
Suffolk is back in action on Tuesday afternoon as it takes on reigning Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) champion Simmons at 4:00pm. Tuesday's match will be Suffolk's first conference match of the 2016 season.
