BOSTON – At the tail end of its road trip, the Suffolk women's tennis team makes a trip to The Weymouth Club Sunday, Sept. 18 for a showdown with Emerson. First serve is set for 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
For the second straight match, the Suffolk women's tennis team landed on the wrong side of a 5-4 decision as the Rams were bested by the Bears of Bridgewater State at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts Thursday afternoon.

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk has dropped back-to-back 5-4 decisions to slip to 1-4 on the season. 

Valentina Medina is perfect on the year in singles with a 5-0 record splitting time on the first (2-0) and second (3-0) courts. Aidiana Sagyndykova is also unbeaten in singles with a 4-0 mark with three wins as the Rams' ace. 

In doubles, Medina has teamed up with three different partners – Isabel Rathlev (2-0), Danlyn Medou (1-1) and Sagyndykova (1-0), to be the prime Ram partner.   

LOOK AT THE LIONS
Emerson is 1-2 on the year. After being swept by Mit and Mount Holyoke, the Lions defeated UMass Dartmouth for their first victory of 2016. 

Sabrina Jacobs has played as the Lions ace in each match, picking up her first win against the Corsairs. In doubles, Alisha Parikh and Jamie CoConis have held Emerson's top court. The pair earned its first victory versus UMass Dartmouth as well. 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Suffolk women's tennis standout Valentina Medina, who grabbed a record six rookie of the week accolades last season, began the 2016 campaign as the top player of the conference over seven days, being named the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week Sept. 12.
