EAST BOSTON - The Suffolk women's soccer team collected its fourth straight victory with a 5-0 shutout over Mount Ida in GNAC action Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jennifer Martin and Alexandra Nagri each scored twice while Erika Nelson added a goal and an assist as Suffolk blanked Mount Ida to improve to a 5-4 mark in GNAC play on the year.  Kirsten Weiker needed to make just one save as the Suffolk defense smothered Mount Ida's offense for the majority of the contest. Suffolk held a 25-3 margin in shots in the contest.

GOALS

• Off a Mt. Ida goalie deflection, Martin picked up the pieces and put them away. The junior's 10th goal of the season put Suffolk on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute. 
• Nelson made it a 2-0 Rams contest nearly 10 minutes into teh second half. 
• Nagri pushed the score to 3-0 thanks to a feed from Nelson at 67:32. 
• Martin netted her second of the day and 11th of the season with an unassisted score at 76:42.
• With less than two minutes on the clock, Nagri scored her 14th goal of the season for the final 5-0 tally. 

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

• Weiker and Suffolk recorded the team's sixth victory via shutout on the 2016 campaign. The win is her fifth on the year.
• AnnaMarie Seiler was busy all the day in between the pipes for the Mustangs as she was under fire facing 15 shots on goal, stopping 10 of those.

NOTEABLES

• The victory marks Suffolk's eighth of the season, doubling their win total from the previous season.
• The eight wins also rank third in the Rams' 10-year history. 
• The win marks the fourth straight for the Rams, which is the most since matching that stretch Oct. 1-10, 2011.
• Suffolk moved to 7-2-1 against Mount Ida and picked up its second straight win over the Mustangs.
• The cleansheet is Suffolk's sixth of the season, the most for Suffolk since recording eight in 2011.
