Regis Snaps Women’s Soccer Win Streak, 2-1

WESTON, Mass. – The Suffolk women's soccer team saw its win streak halted Thursday night by Regis as the Pride snuck by the Rams, 2-1, at Regis Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, Regis opened the scoring 12 minutes into the second to take a 1-0 lead. Suffolk's comeback attempt came into play just 22 seconds after the Pride pushed its lead to two. Playing against time, the Rams were unable to net the game-tying goal as Regis walked away with the 2-1 win.

LONE GOAL

  • For the second time this season, Alexandra Nagri netted Suffolk's lone goal. This time, however, the junior's score did not lift the Rams' to victory. Nagri's fifth goal of the year was a long unassisted shot over Regis' keeper head at 87:39.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Kirsten Weiker made five stops in the setback.
  • Amanda Matias earned the win with three saves.
