
EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse opened the home chapter of its history in convincing fashion as seven Rams contributed at least one point to handle Purchase, 19-1, Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk jumped out to a comfortable 7-0 cushion as Ally Colburn, Julia Dickinson and Jessie Le all netted goals. Colburn led the way with four strikes, one with a man-up and two with a player down. Dickinson added two goals and Le logged one.
In the second, Suffolk sandwiched two goals around one by the Panthers to take a 9-1 lead into halftime. Lauren Woods and Charley White etched their name on the scoresheet, in that order.
History appeared to repeat itself out of the locker room as the blue-and-gold put up another lopsided 7-0 score to stretch the margin to 16-1.
Suffolk tacked on three more goals, two by Woods and from White for the 19-1 final.
GOALIE LOG
- Charlotte Guziejka made one save in the victory.
- Amani Jamal notched 26 saves in the setback.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Woods' name was all over the stat sheet with five goals, two assists, 10 ground balls, 14 draw controls and seven caused turnovers.
- Colburn also had a well-round afternoon with four goals and three helpers.
- Dickinson's day featured five goals and four handouts.
- Kaitlyn Boyce produced a hat trick.
- White pitched in a pair of goals.
- Le logged one goal.
- Sofia Barboza-Lind added one assist.
- Every statistical categories was lopsided in Suffolk's favor including shots, 53-2, draw controls, 22-2, and ground balls, 32-6.
- The Panthers had 28 turnovers, 19 of which the Rams caused.
- Suffolk went 3-for-6 on free position shots.
- Purchase's only goal of the day came on a free position.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk hosted its first-ever game in program history.
- The one goal allowed is the fewest in the Rams' short history, while the 19 goals scored is the most in Suffolk's record book.
- Dickinson had a personal-best in assists (5), points (7) and ground balls (3).
- Boyce and White recorded the first points of their collegiate careers.
- Colburn had her first collegiate hat trick. She tallied career highs in goals (4), assists (3) and points (7).
- Woods had the hat trick of her collegiate career and produced personal-best in every category.
