RECORDS: Suffolk (5-7-0) | No. 14 Bowdoin (9-0-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Down 3-0 after the first 20 minutes Suffolk struck 1:30 into the middle period. Cassie Borowski played the puck off the boards to Bella Schmidt, who took it from the Rams' zone down the ice for a one-on-one with Abby Matusovich. Suffolk's sophomore snuck the puck by Matusovich, the first player to do so this season, to put the blue-and-gold on the board.
Bowdoin responded to Schmidt's strike with a pair of strikes of its own to send the Rams into the second intermission chasing four, 5-1.
Suffolk made things interesting in the third as it potted a pair of pucks over 21 seconds within the first five minutes. First, Borowski found the back of the net with help from Maddie Gagliano before Kate Pohl potted a marker on the blue-and-gold's next possession to cut the deficit down to 5-3.
Ten minutes later, Anya Nichipor had a chance to trim the gap even further, but her shot hit the post and the 5-3 margin remained at the final buzzer.
