BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey is back in action after nearly a month away Friday, Jan. 3 when it treks to No. 14 Bowdoin for a 7:00 p.m. battle.

Suffolk women's hockey ended its fall semester on a high note as it completed its Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series sweep of Curry with a 5-2 victory Saturday, Dec. 7 at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk swept Curry in a Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series to wrap up first semester play 5-6-0 overall.  

The Rams have poured in 38 goals this season with five different players holding nine-point stat lines in Jenna Caballero (9a), Alexia Hill (5g, 4a), Sam Molind (4g, 5a), Liliana Moose (3g, 6a), and Bella Schmidt (4g, 5a). Katie Newkirk is a usual factor into the blue-and-gold's offensive output with five goals and one helper to her credit.  

Katelyn Michals has been a staple in the cage for the Rams this season. The sophomore holds a 3.21 GAA and .903 save percentage in 10 appearances, all starts. 

POLAR BEAR POINTS
Bowdoin, who enters the weekend tied for 14th on the latest USCHO.com poll, is undefeated this year at 8-0-0. 

The Polar Bears' 31-goal offense is well-balanced with all, but two skaters producing at least one point. Luna Lu leads the way with nine on three goals and six set-ups. Ava Provenzo (5g, 2a), Gia Massari (3g, 4a) and Bella Mele (2g, 5a) round out the top foursome with seven points apiece.  

Bowdoin has limited its opponents to just five goals in eight games behind the netminding of Sarah Peterson (4 GP, 0.74 GAA, .974 save %), Sally Solotaroff-Webber (3 GP, 0.67 GAA, .961 save %) and Abby Matusovich (1 GP, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 save%). 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Bowdoin series started a year ago. 
  • The Rams fell to the Polar Bears in the first-ever meeting, 2-1, Nov. 25, 2023. That meeting took place at a neutral site.
