PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Suffolk women's hockey slipped to Johnson & Wales, 5-1, Saturday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Lynch Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk found itself down three as the Wildcats potted one puck in the first and a pair of unanswered in the second. 

Kate Pohl ignited the Rams bench when the grad student put the blue-and-gold on the board with 1:02 left before the second intermission. Alexia Hill and Anya Nichipor set-up the Suffolk score that trimmed the distance down to 3-1.  

Momentum did not stay in Suffolk's favor as the Wildcats wound up putting two third period unanswered goals for the final 5-1 margin. 

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Katelyn Michals had 23 saves in the setback. 
  • Katelyn Cardoso recorded 26 stops in the victory.  

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Pohl was responsible for the Rams one goal. 
  • Hill and Nichipor logged one assist apiece. 
  • JWU held a slim edge in shots, 28-27. 
  • The Rams had the upperhand in face-offs, 29-25.
  • Suffolk successfully skated off its lone penalty of the night.
