BOSTON – The top-seeded Suffolk women's hockey team is set to host the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship for the first time in program history Saturday, March 4 when the Rams welcome second seed Endicott to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink for a 4:50 p.m. puck drop.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk is in the midst of its second straight appearance in the CCC postseason.

The top seeded Suffolk women's hockey team secured its spot in the 2023 Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship as the Rams took control early and never let it go, shutting out fourth seed University of New England, 6-0, in the semifinals Saturday at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink

Ten different Suffolk skaters provided at least one point to the decisive decision, while Lily O'Neil turned aside all 18 shots she faced in the shutout.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk put together a convincing 6-0 win over the University of New England in the CCC Semifinals last Saturday, Feb. 25 to improve to 17-7-2 overall. 

The Rams 79-goal offense has been powered by a pair of skaters with 20-plus points in Shana Cote and Miranda Gaudet. Cote holds a conference-best 27 points behind 13 goals and 14 assists, while the latter not only sits squad on the squad, but also in the league with 24 points on seven strikes and 17 set-ups. 

In goal, Lily O'Neil has taken on the bulk of the workload. In 21 appearances, all starts, the junior has assembled a .939 save percentage and 1.52 GAA with a 12-7-1 record. 

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott has rattled off eight wins in a row, including a 2-0 shutout of Western New England in the CCC semis last Saturday, Feb. 25 to sit 17-7-2 on the year. 

Samantha Fantasia and Emmerson Hayes lead the Gulls 81-goal offensive output with 19 points apiece. Hayes' stat line mirrors Fantasia's of 12 goals and seven assists.

Michaele O'Brien is the usual goaltender for Endicott. She built a 1.35 GAA and .942 save percentage in her 17 games played, all starts, for an 11-4-2 mark in net.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk and Endicott split the CCC home-and-home series earlier this season as both teams locked up 2-1 decision over one another. The Gulls took the opener in Eastie and the Rams won the battle in Beverly. 

In the third bout, Endicott beat Suffolk, 3-1, Feb. 11.
