BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey will venture to Michigan this weekend for a two-game series at No. 4 Adrian Jan. 6-7. The Rams will first battle the Bulldogs Friday at 7 p.m. before a 3 p.m. rematch at Arrington Ice Arena on Saturday.

Suffolk women's hockey wrapped up its first semester schedule with an exclamation point as it scored two unanswered goals to hand Trinity a 2-1 loss Saturday at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating RinkCassidy Gruning tied the game before Madison Duff pushed the Rams ahead on the power play, while Lily O'Neil did her job in the night to help the blue-and-gold to victory.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk brings a 9-3-1 overall record to the Great Lakes State after going unbeaten in December with victories over the University of New England (2-0), Western New England (4-1) and Trinity (2-1) and a 3-3 draw with the Nor'Easters.  

The Rams' 41-goal offense has six different skaters with double-digit points paced by Shana Cote's 16. Her team-leading stat line is evenly divided between a team-best eight goals and eight handouts. Miranda Gaudet is second on the squad in points (15) and helpers (10) with five strikes to her credit. Madison Duff (4g, 8a), Livia Brehm (2g, 8a), Sam Molind (2g, 8a) and Sofia Scilipoti (5g, 5a) round out Suffolk's top scorers. 

Lily O'Neil has seen the most time in net for the blue-and-gold. In 11 games played, all starts, she has compiled a 1.45 GAA and .939 save percentage with a 7-3-0 ledger. Julia McLellan (2 GP, 0.57 GAA, .978 save percentage) and Hannah Gordon (1 GP, 1.00 GAA, .929 save percentage) have also defended the net for the blue-and-gold this year. 

BULLDOGS BREAKDOWN
Adrian is 10-1-0 on the year with its lone loss coming in its last outing of 2022, a 1-0 setback to then-No. 17 Plattsburgh State Dec. 11.  

The Bulldogs' 44 offense has seen four different players surpass double figures in points in Jessica VonRuden (7g, 8a), Karmen Anderson (7g, 5a), Kathryn Truban (3g, 8a) and Une Bjelland (6g, 4a).  

Sophie Goldberg is the usual starting netminder for Adrian. She boasts a .780 GAA and .959 save percentage.

  • Suffolk has taken the ice against a top-15 opponent 10 times in the program's history, including twice this season. 
  • The Rams have defeated a nationally-ranked foe twice to sit 2-8-0 all-time against top-15 foes. 
  • Both of Suffolk's victories against nationally ranked opponents have come on the road.
  • Both of the blue-and-gold's nationally-ranked upset victories have come over Endicott including this year's 2-1 overtime win over the Gulls Nov. 21, 2022, which was the last time the Rams battled a top-15 team.  
  • The Rams have gone into overtime against a top-15 opponent twice. 
  • Suffolk is 1-1-0 when taking a nationally ranked foe to overtime.

Suffolk will have a week off from action once it returns to action and is set to return to the ice Jan. 20-21 for a home-and-home series with Curry. The Rams will host the Colonels Friday at 6:00 p.m., before a rematch on the road on Saturday at 3 p.m.
