BOSTON – Suffolk women's hockey has an action packed weekend for its last action of the 2022 portion of its schedule as the Rams welcome Western New England and Trinity to Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink this weekend. The Golden Bears will first stop by Eastie Friday, Dec. 9 for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) clash at 6 p.m., with a battle against the Bantams on tap for Saturday, Dec. 10 at 4:50 p.m.

Suffolk women's hockey and the University of New England skated to a 3-3 draw Saturday at Harold Alfond Forum after trading goals in regulation of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk heads into the weekend 7-3-1 overall and 6-1-1 against CCC competition after going 1-0-1 in its home-and-home series against the University of New England a week ago.

The Rams' 35-goal offense sees four players with double-digit point lines in Shana Cote (7g, 7a), Miranda Gaudet (4g, 8a), Madison Duff (3g, 7a) and Sofia Scilipoti (5g, 5a). 

Lily O'Neil has played the bulk of time in net. In nine appearances, all starts, the junior sports a 1.56 GAA and .935 save percentage. Julia McLellan sports a 0.57 GAA and .978 save percentage, while Hannah Gordon brings in a 1.00 GAA and .929 save percentage.

GET TO KNOW THE GOLDEN BEARS
Western New England, who is on a three-game win streak, is unbeaten in its last six games. That streak, which put the Golden Bears at 7-2-2 overall and 4-2-2 in the CCC, features four wins, including a 3-2 overtime upset of then-No. 11 Endicott (Nov. 12). 

Maddie Pope and Alyssa Murphy power WNE's 28-goal offense. The former has found the back of the net eight times and dished out five assists, while the latter owns three goals and eight set-ups.

All three Golden Bears netminders have seen time this season. Rieley Jessie-Gerelli appears to be the usual start for WNE. The junior goalie holds a 1.45 GAA and .954 save percentage. Kayla Ireland (1.67 GAA, .951 save percentage) has three games under her belt, while Luciana Robertelli (2.50 GAA, .921 save percentage) has taken the ice twice.

Trinity surprised No. 5 Norwich Tuesday night, shutting out the nationally ranked Cadets, 3-0, to move to 4-4-0 on the season.

Jelani Adorno and Martina Exnervoa hold identical three-goal, three-assist stat lines to pace the Bantams' 20-goal offense that has received four points from Stephanie Nevers (3g, 1a), Annika Dyckowski (1g, 3a) and Erin DeMarco (4a).

Suffolk will take the next few weeks off for finals and the holidays. The Rams return to action with a two-game series at Adrian January 6-7.
