
NEW LONDON, Conn. – Suffolk women's hockey was kept off the scoreboard by Connecticut College, who shutout the Rams, 3-0, Tuesday night at Dayton Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Camels took advantage of a 5-on-3 opportunity late in the opening period. Just 27 seconds into the two-man advantage, Catherine Lawrence found the back of the net with help from Melanie Conca to give the hosts a one-goal edge.
Conn. College managed to make the most of its own penalty kill 7:31 into the second stanza when Melissa Alexander scored a short-handed goal on a feed from Erin Dillon to push the margin to two.
Mairi Anthony added to the cushion with 3:48 left in the middle period as her strike assisted by Camille Phelan gave the Camels a 3-0 edge after 40 minutes of action.
Suffolk look to make its way on the scoreboard in the third frame. Even with outshooting the hosts, 7-4, in the final 20 minutes, Abby Wieczorek stood tall to hold onto the shutout for the hosts.
