
KEENE, N.H. – Suffolk women's golf capped off the weekend in winning fashion as it captured the Keene State Invitational Sunday at the Keene Country Club.
The Rams combined for a team score of 341 (+53) to win the eight-team field. Suffolk's score was 21 strokes better than second-place finisher Nichols, who finished with a 362.
All five of the blue-and-gold's golfers earned a spot in the top nine to help Suffolk win the event.
Freshman Krisna Mahendran claimed in the individual medalist honor as she show a career-high, 18-hole low of 78.
Mahendra's +6 was eight strokes ahead of runner-up, Suffolk's junior Ella Torsleff, who had an 86.
Sophomore Brooke Bugajewski was one stroke behind her co-captain with an 87, good for a share of third.
Like Mahendra, her classmates Emory Goodson and Clare Stackpole-McGrath also produced personal-best 18-hole scores of 90 and 94, respectively. Goodson shared seventh, while Stackpole-McGrath placed ninth in the 40-golfer field.
Suffolk takes next weekend off to prep for its pair of Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) competitions of the fall that are on tap Oct. 11-12 in the Empire State.
