BRUNSWICK, Maine – Suffolk women's golf turned in a 10th-place performance at the Polar Bear Shoot at the Brunswick Golf Club over the weekend.
The Rams started the two-day tournament with a 341 and shaved one stroke off that showing on Sunday to finish with a combined 681 to secured 10th in the 13-team field. Williams won the event with a 582.
Brooke Bugajewski was the top Ram on the links. The sophomore shot an 82 on Saturday to sit in 43rd. A day later, she tied a Suffolk individual best at the Brusnwick Golf Club of a 78 to move up 11 spots in the results. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native shared 32nd with Bates' Isabelle Meltzer. Bugajewski is the second-ever Ram to shoot a 78 on the course in Vacation Land, first since Isabel Smith did so at the 2023 Polar Bear Shootout a year ago, Sept. 9-10, 2023.
Freshman Krisna Mahendran claimed 48th with a 167, while junior Ella Torsleff shot an 84 on each day of competition to card a 168 total, good for 50th in the field of 80.
Emory Goodson put together her first collegiate finish as she took 64th with a 186 after shooting a 93 on each day of action.
Clare Stackpole-McGrath rounded out the Rams on the course in 71st. She totaled 207 for her first official collegiate score.
Suffolk takes next weekend off and returns to action Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Keene State Invitational at the Keen Country Club in Keene, New Hampshire.
