Women’s Golf Looks to Defend NEIGA Crown this Weekend


BOSTON – After winning the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) title the last two seasons, the Suffolk women's golf team goes for the threepeat this weekend at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts, Oct. 20-21. The Rams will start the two-day outing on the Starboard Course Sunday, Sept. 20 and conclude the action on the Port Course the following day.

BENCH PRESS FOR BREAST CANCER
Members of Ram Nation are asked to pull their weight in an effort to take the load off of those affected by breast cancer in Suffolk Athletics' Bench Press for Breast Cancer event Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's golf claimed third at the second-ever Northeast Women's Golf Conference Championships Oct. 5-6 at the Colonie Country Club.

ABOUT THE NEIGA
The New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) is a non-profit organization, which was first organized in 1934 at the Oakley Country Club in Watertown, Massachusetts. NEIGA is believed to be the largest gathering of collective players from all levels of NCAA competing at the same location on a 36-hole layout. There are currently 46 New England colleges and universities as members of the NEIGA.

THE COURSE
Two championship golf courses at one location line in the Captains Golf Course. Together, the par-72 Port Course and the par-72 Starboard Course deliver 36 holes. 

RAPID REWIND
Since Suffolk has taken the course at the regional championship, the Rams have come out as the winners with the 2018 New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championships being no different as the blue-and-gold coasted against its competition to capture the 2018 NEIGA Crown at The Captains Golf Course.
