Two Tournaments Ahead for Women's Golf



BOSTON – he Suffolk women's golf team will compete in back-to-back outings this weekend as the Rams travel to Westfield, Massachusetts, for the Westfield Open Saturday, April 27 at the Shaker Farms Golf Course followed by the inaugural Northeast Women's Golf Championships at Tekoa Country Club on Sunday, April 28.

LAST TIME OUT
In its first competition of the spring season, the Suffolk women's golf team shot three of the top four scores but a late withdrawal resulted in a victory for the hosts, Rhode Island College.

NEW LEAGUE
A new independent NCAA Division III women's golf conference has been formed; the Northeast Women's Golf Conference (NWGC) has been approved by the NCAA Membership Committee.

Suffolk is one of 10 members of the league and will joined on the course Sunday, April 28 by Husson, Johnson & Wales, Keuka, Nazareth, SUNY Canton, SUNY Cortland, St. John Fisher, Utica and Westfield State for the inaugural NWGC Championship.

THE COURSE - SHAKER FARMS COUNTRY CLUB
Shaker Farms Country Club offers challenging, but picturesque courses for golfers of any level. Accuracy will be tested on the fairway with water hazards and sand traps throughout the 72-par course. 

THE COURSE - TEKOA COUNTRY CLUB
Tekoa Country Club was founded in 1890 and first designed as a four-hole course, since then it has grown to become one of the finest championship golf courses in western Massachusetts. Both Donald Ross and Geoffrey Cornish each left their mark on the green, creating 14 of the 18 holes.
