Women’s Golf Opens Spring Slate Against Rhode Island College

WARWICK, R.I. – In its first outing in 2019, Suffolk faced Rhode Island College in a head-to-head outing at Valley Country Club Friday.

Despite a trio of Rams shooting three of the top four scores, a late withdrawal on the course by Nicole Antonucci resulted in an Anchormen victory for the hosts.

On the par-72 course, that measures 5,636 yards, Brooke Chapman led the seven-golfer pack on the fairway as the sophomore shot a 92 to take individual medalist honors. Suffolk junior Aine Dillon secured second place just four strokes behind her teammate.

In her first outing as a Suffolk golfer, Tess Adams finished fourth with a card of 103.

Suffolk is set for a pair of outings next week to conclude the 2019 campaign as the Rams head to the Tekoa Country Club in Westfield, Massachusetts for the Westfield Open Saturday, April 27 and the New League Tourney the following day, Sunday, April 28.
