
BOSTON – Every healthy player on roster contributed to Suffolk women's basketball's convincing 67-52 Commonwealth Coast Conference victory over Wentworth Saturday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk scored the first six points of the game before Wentworth got its offense going and responded with a 6-3 runs to keep it a one-possession, 9-6, game with 7:10 left in the opening quarter. The Rams would go on to couple back-to-back buckets before the Leopards answered. That patterned continued to close out the first frame with the blue-and-gold up 21-13.
The Rams built a comfortable cushion in the second stanza as they outscored WIT, 17-7, to take a 38-20 advantage into halftime.
Suffolk controlled things in the third in built a 24-point distance, 55-31, with 2:37 on the clock in the quarter. Wentworth kept things interesting as it ended the stanza with seven unanswered points to cut the gap to 17, 55-38 after 30 minutes.
That 17-point edge paid off in the fourth as Wentworth outscored Suffolk, 14-12, for the 67-52 final.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Amanda DeAngelis put together a 19-point, 11-rebound effort in just 22 minutes. She shot 7-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the charity stripe. The forward chipped in one assist and one block.
- Lauren Romito also had a double-double of her own with 13 points and 11 caroms. The forward added four blocks
- Jordan Moreau logged 10 points, three boards and one dime.
- Colby Guinta had an all-around outing with nine points, three rebounds, three helpers, two blocks and two steals.
- Suffolk controlled the boards, 51-35.
- The Rams took advantage of their offensive rebounds with 20 points on second chances.
- Nearly half (32) of Suffolk's offense came in the paint.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk defeated Wentworth for the 11th straight meeting to move to 29-9 all-time against the Leopards.
- At home, Suffolk is 13-2 versus WIT.
- DeAngelis had a double-double for the second straight game. The double-double effort is the senior's ninth of the season and 25th of her collegiate career.
- Romito tallied her fourth double-double of the year.
- Bono notched a personal-best in every statistical category: points (7), field goals made (3), rebounds (4), assists (2) and steals (2).
- Madison Michienzie matched a career-high in free throws made (1) and rebounds (2).
