BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball wraps up a three-game week Saturday, Jan. 6 when Wentworth stops by Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for a Commonwealth Coast Conference showdown at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's basketball overcame a 13-point deficit and made it a one-possession game with one minute remaining in regulation, but ultimately the University of New England used free throws down the stretch to take down the Rams, 86-80, in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Thursday night at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk moved to 9-3 on the year and 3-2 versus CCC competition after falling to UNE Thursday.  

Amanda DeAngelis and Lauren Romito continue to be the backbone of Suffolk's offense and defense. DeAngelis averages a double-double of 14.4 ppg and 11.5 rpg, both of which top the team. Romito, meanwhile, is second on the squad in scoring and rebounding with 12.4 ppg and 8.8 rpg, respectively. Colby Guinta (9.5 ppg) and Jordan Moreau (9.2 ppg) are consistent contributors to the Rams' 69.7 offense output as well. 

LEOPARDS LOOK
Wentworth is 2-5 on the year and winless, 0-3, in CCC action. The Leopards have lost five games in a row. 

Maddy Foster is the only playr producing double figures in scoring with 15.0 ppg to pace WIT's 44.7 ppg offensive output. Brianna Carroll (7.8 ppg), Reagan Madonia (7.3 ppg) and Aissata Conde (7.0 ppg) have factored into the scoring conversation as well for the Leopards.

Defensively, Foster's 8.3 rpg leads the way. Gabby Amoddio adds 5.7 rpg and Samantha jones pitches in 5.0 rpg.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk holds a convincing 28-9 all-time series lead over Wentworth. 
  • The Rams have won 10 games in a row versus the Leopards including the last meetings 71-38 convincing triumph Jan. 28, 2023.
