BOSTON – Fresh off back-to-back victories, the Suffolk women's basketball team heads to Regis Thursday. The non-conference contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

THE STARTING FIVE

• Suffolk marked back-to-back tallies in the win column over the weekend as the Rams' captured the Emerson Tip-Off Tournament. Suffolk defeated UMaine Farmington, 62-48, before taking down Framingham State, 68-54.
• It is the first season since 2013-14 that Suffolk began its campaign 2-0.
• The Rams have received a well-balanced thus far this season with 9-of-12 players who have seen action contributing points. Alessandra Quadri has paced Suffolk offensively with 13.0 ppg while first-year Marissa Gudauskas also averages double-digits in 12.0 ppg.
• Caitlyn Caramello is Suffolk's force on the boards as the senior pulls down 10.0 rpg. Caramello has also pitched in offensively with 8.0 ppg.
• Alexandra Nagri has played an all-around game for Suffolk thus far this season as the sophomore contributes 4.5 assists, 4.5 steals, 9.0 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Behind double-digit point performances by three different Rams, the Suffolk women's basketball team held on for a 68-54 triumph over Framingham State to capture the Emerson Tip-Off Championship Sunday afternoon at Brown-Plofker Gymnasium.

Senior Alessandra Quadri, an all-tournament team selection, led the offensive charge to move Suffolk to 2-0 on the year, making it the first season since 2013-14 that the Rams opened the year 2-0. Quadri notched 18 points on a 6-of-15 performance from the field and 4-of-6 from the line. Classmate and tournament MVP Cailtyn Caramello pitched in 12 points and eight boards with Georgia Bourikas contributing 10 points, shooting 2-of-4 from deep. Bourikas also earned a spot on the all-tournament team in her returning weekend debut after a season sidelined due to injury. Junior Alexandra Clarke added eight rebounds to the Rams' effort.

OPENING ACT
Thanks to a 62-48 victory over UMaine Farmington, the Rams fifth straight season opening victory, Suffolk is now 17-16 all-time in the first game of the season and 13-9 under head coach Ed Leyden.

NEW YEAR, NEW RULES
The 2015-16 college women's basketball season will have a new look this year as the NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Oversight Panel approved new rules to help enhance the flow of the game.

• Teams will now play four 10-minute quarters rather than the 20-minute halves.
• Teams will reach the bonus and shoot two free throws on the fifth team foul in each quarter.
• Each team has one less timeout in the new format, starting the game with three 30-second and one full timeout, respectively.

PROWL ON THE PRIDE

• Regis made its season debut at the 36th Annual Eastern Tip-Off Tournament where it fell to Bridgewater State, 60-56, before defeating Nichols, 60-42, to hold a 1-1 record heading into Thursday's game.
• Amanda Hawkesworth leads the way for the Pride as the junior forward averages 14.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg. Brittany Stone paces the Pride on the glass with 14.5 rpg and joins Hawkesworth in double figures in points with 11.5.

THE SERIES
Suffolk looks to tact on another win in the series with Regis it currently trails, 4-11. The Pride has won three straight against the Rams including a 73-70 overtime victory a year ago. Suffolk's last win over Regis came in 1998-99 when the Rams defeated the Pride, 78-53.                

ALL-TOURNEY
After capturing the Emerson Tip-Off Tournament Championship, Suffolk was well-represented on the all-tournament team. Senior Alessandra Quadri and junior Georgia Bourikas earned a spot on the team, while senior Cailtyn Caramello was named the tournament's MVP.

ROOKIE RECOGNITION
Marissa Gudauskas was named the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week after averaging 12.0 points in just 18.5 minutes per game to help the Rams to a 2-0 start and capture the Emerson Tip-Off Championship.

HARDWOOD CLASSICS
During the off-season, Suffolk Athletics began construction on a brand new gymnasium floor look inside Regan Gymnasium thanks to the generosity of two Suffolk Athletics Hall of Famers Michael S. Smith and Larry E. Smith. Officially completed in August, Suffolk women's basketball will have its first crack on the new hardwood Saturday, Nov. 21 versus Colby Sawyer at 1 p.m.
