Gudauskas Named GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Marissa Gudauskas has been named the GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week after averaging 12.0 points in just 18.5 minutes per game to help the Rams to a 2-0 start and capture the Emerson Tip-Off Championship, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Gudauskas made her collegiate debut against UMaine Farmington. In just 16 minutes on the hardwood, she posted a game-high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including a 4-of-6 performance from beyond the arc, to go with one assist.

The 5-foot-4guard followed that performance the next day with a nine-point game, shooting 50 percent (2-4) from deep and 3-of-7 for the day. In addition to her offensive contributions, Gudauskas added two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 21 minutes of action.

The Rams and Bolton, Connecticut native start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2013-14. With her first weekly award, Gudauskas becomes the first player in blue-and-gold to be tabbed the best rookie in the conference since Jennifer Ruys '14 was named rookie of the week February 8, 2011.

Gudauskas and Suffolk returns to the court Thursday, Nov. 19 as the Rams visit Regis for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest.
