Title: Assistant Softball Coach
Phone: 617-573-8379

Nicole Meuse joined Jaclyn Davis’ staff as assistant coach in the Fall of 2017 and begins her third season with the Rams in 2020.

Meuse will work directly with the Rams’ pitching staff, providing individual and group instruction to the hurlers as well as short- and long-term training programs.

With Meuse on the staff Suffolk’s twirlers had one of the best years in recent history combing for a 2.19 ERA with 208 strikeouts over 249.0 innings. Senior Taylor Holmes headlined the group as the NFCA All-Region third-team selection and All-GNAC first-team honoree went 10-1 in the circle through 66.0 innings pitched with 58 Ks and a 1.91 ERA. Payton Sylvester, meanwhile, made her name known in the circle. The freshman arm threw the first known no-hitter in Suffolk’s history – a 14-0, five-inning, shutout at Simmons April 29 -- and completed her first campaign with the lowest ERA on staff, 1.42, over 59.1 innings with 59 strikeouts en route to GNAC Rookie of the Year accolades, a spot on the conference’s first team and a spot on the NFCA All-Region second team.

The pitchers helped Suffolk to its  third regular season title in the last four years behind a 22-2 league ledger and led the Rams to the GNAC Championship series for the second straight season.

In 2019, Suffolk saw a roster divided in half with newcomers and returners and the circle was no different. Freshman Kennedy Reyes proved to be the blue-and-gold's ace and helped the Rams secure a spot in the league's postseason field after going 11-5 versus conference counterparts in the regular season. Reyes was the lone twirler to be recognized for her efforts on the team with a spot on the third-team and was apart of Suffolk's program-record tying six honorees.

The Hudson, Massachusetts, native began her coaching career at Planet Fastpitch after a successful four-year career inside the circle at Clark. During her time with the Cougars, the right handed pitcher directed the circle in 71 contests, 341.2 innings, 33 complete games and nine shutouts. Her impressive 35 victories came behind 251 strikeouts and 3.20 career ERA. All of these numbers are good enough to be scattered throughout Clark’s record books highlighted by her Ks (251) and strikeouts per seven innings (5.14) sitting fourth.

After graduating from Clark in June 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, Meuse has gone on to further her education at William James, where she is working towards her Masters of Arts and Certification of Advanced Studies in Psychology with a concentration in children and families of adversity and resiliency. Throughout her coursework, Meuse has completed fieldwork and practicums at various Boston Public Schools.
